Project Description

The General Assembly of Budapest invited tenders for the renewal of Public Warehouses in 2006 which was won by the Dutch ONL architect office. Kas Oosterhuis, Dutch architect, the founder of ONL was the one who invented the plan of creating a whale made of glass that is partly wedged in the warehouses, partly is on the top of them. The investor of the building was the Hungarian Porto Investment Ltd., and the contractor was the WHB-Group. The task of our company was the manufacturing and building in the special structural nodal consoles of the steel hangar. These consoles enabled us to create the specific shape of the steel hangar of Bálna.
